1. Information We Collect
User-Provided Information
The content you create (journal entries) is stored locally on your device. However, to provide AI-powered features (such as generating statistics and reflective questions), your content is securely transmitted to our third-party AI providers for processing. We do not permanently store your journal entries on our own servers; they are processed solely to provide these insights.
Identifiers & Device Data
We collect specific technical identifiers to manage subscriptions, ensure security, and provide the service. This includes:
- Firebase Installation IDs & Subscription IDs: To manage your subscription status via App Store providers.
- Device Integrity Signals: (via Firebase App Check) To prevent abuse and protect the app.
- IP Address: Personally identifying information (PII) such as IP addresses may be collected briefly for broad geographic location, security, and by our API providers.
App Interactions & Diagnostics
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as screen views and feature usage) to improve app experience. We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and stability data to identify and fix bugs.
2. Use of Information
Providing Services & Quota Management
We use your data to display journal entries, generate statistics, and manage your subscription status (Free vs. Premium). We track the number of API requests you make to enforce subscription quotas.
AI Features
When you create or add a journal entry, we utilize Third-Party AI Services to analyze your text for statistics, insights, and reflective questions. Your entry content is processed to provide these features. Please refer to the "Third-Party Services" section below for details on specific providers and terms.
3. Third-Party Services
App Store Providers
We use Google Play Store and Apple App Store services to handle payments and subscription management. We do not process or store your credit card information directly.
Third-Party AI Providers
Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic: We engage these providers to perform complex data processing, including natural language understanding and machine learning analysis, which enable our App's core AI features.
Current Status: We currently utilize Google Gemini as our active provider (subject to change). Data handling is subject to the Terms of Service of the specific active provider.
Google Firebase
Used for backend logic, security (App Check), and AI integration. The Firebase Terms of Service apply.
Google Analytics
Collects anonymous usage data (such as screen views, buttons clicked, and feature popularity) to help us understand how the app is used.
Firebase Crashlytics
Collects crash reports, stack traces, and app stability data to identify bugs and improve reliability.
Google Drive
Optional cloud backup feature. If enabled, files are securely stored in your personal Drive.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Vibememo's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. International Data Transfers
We use third-party services (like Google Firebase and Third-Party AI Providers) that may process your data globally. This means your data (such as API requests or analytics) may be transferred to and processed in servers located outside your country of residence (e.g., in the United States), where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to this transfer, processing, and storage.
5. Security
We prioritize the security of your data:
- Local-First: Your journal entries are stored on your device.
- Encryption: Data transmitted to our AI services or cloud backup is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/SSL).
6. Data Retention
Since your data is stored locally, it is retained as long as the app is installed on your
device.
Deletion: If you delete the app, your local data is deleted. If you have
enabled cloud backup, you are responsible for managing/deleting the backup file in your Google
Drive. We provide options to delete the backup in the app. We do not retain copies of your
private journal entries on our servers.
7. Your Rights
- Export: You can export your data directly from the app anytime.
- Deletion: You can delete specific entries or the entire app to remove your local data.
8. Children's Privacy

9. GDPR Data Protection Rights
